1972-1973 Floating before a Vast Expanse |
|
The consciousness of form changes in the early 1970s. The movement of the brushstrokes becomes calmer, the works take on an increasingly geometric character. Clear forms, clearly defined picture planes, intensification of color areas clearly set off from one another characterize these works. The forms are compact and clear, and seem to float off the canvas over areas of color. Stars and planets begin to emerge as pictorial symbols. |
